The Reluctant Divorcee

Brought to you by SA Law

I’ve never considered writing a blog before; it’s the kind of thing other people do. I’m more of a fact-based person but things are so all over the place at the moment that writing down my thoughts and feelings suddenly feels like the right thing to do. It helps me to organise my thoughts a bit, and who knows, someone else might read this who’s going through the same thing. So here it is: My blog, by Rebecca Green.

Unbelievable request

Thank goodness for Marilyn. James called me last night to tell me he was planning to go to Singapore for the Grand Prix and casinos in September. He wanted to make sure that I haven’t got any holidays planned for then. As if I would during term time.

I was so bothered by it that I mentioned it to Marilyn. She’s explained that as this can be considered “excessive expenditure”, she can write to make it clear that we want the total value of such a trip “added back” into the matrimonial pot so I am not adversely impacted. She’s writing to his solicitor to that effect as I type, and I hope that he sees sense.

I accept that James needs to have a life and a holiday, but surely not spending that amount?
